The Small Dark Light is a newsletter about finding enlightenment, beauty and meaning even when the world and your own temperament don’t seem to be on board.

I draw from a lot of places including Christianity, Taoism, Buddhism, philosophy, psychology, aesthetics, rationalism, novels and absurdist humour. Expect plenty of references to Lao Tzu and Hermann Hesse.

Some posts will argue for a certain point of view. Some will be open-ended philosophical dialogues. And others will be threads aimed at getting discussion going and building a community.

There’ll also be occasional stories. Some of these stories will be very strange. Samuel Beckett on mescalin strange. That's the best way I can think of to describe them.

Subscribe if you want to be part of the conversation - can’t wait to meet ya.
